FreeGuard Plus weekly vs monthly: upfront cost and continued use
Plus weekly minimizes the initial payment, while Plus monthly can reduce the cost of continuing use. Both use the same Plus data bands and the same UTC calendar-month allowance reset.
Compare the total you will pay
The standard card prices checked on September 6, 2026 were $3.99 per week and $7.99 per month, in USD. Two weekly payments total $7.98; three total $11.97; four total $15.96. A calendar month is not exactly four weeks, so compare the period you actually need rather than treating these durations as identical.
Check the pricing page and checkout for current offers and the amount due. Both card options renew automatically until canceled. A lower upfront payment does not necessarily mean a lower total cost over several months.
Measured speed and plan limits
FreeGuard internal tests cover Asia, the Middle East, North America and Europe. Pro and Max high-speed bands reached speeds up to 10 times those of other VPNs in tested scenarios. Plus later speed bands reached up to 2 times those of other VPNs, with both the 100 Mbps and 24 Mbps stages included in testing. These multipliers apply to the plans and network scenarios tested; actual speeds vary. They are separate from the service speed limits listed above.

When weekly can fit
Weekly can fit a short period of planned use or a preference for a smaller first payment. Check the next renewal date and cancellation controls. A paid weekly subscription is not a free trial.
When monthly can fit
Monthly can fit users who expect continuing access and want less frequent renewals without paying a yearly total upfront. If you already have weekly Plus, open subscription management to see whether a monthly change is available and when it will take effect. Review any charge before confirming; do not buy a second subscription just to change the period.
Are the data allowances different?
No. Plus starts with 300 GiB at up to 300 Mbps per UTC calendar month. The next 300 GiB runs at up to 100 Mbps, followed by up to 24 Mbps. Traffic continues beyond the high-speed allowance. Renewing weekly does not add another 300 GiB, and actual speeds depend on your connection.
If allowance is the issue, changing only the billing period will not increase it. Compare Pro and Max instead. If the issue is connection quality, check the app, server and local network before changing the plan.
What about wallet payments?
Cryptocurrency supports Plus only, with separate prices and service durations. The checked offers were $5 for 7 days, $10 for 30 days and $25 for 90 days. They are not the card weekly or monthly prices. Review the network minimum, fees and renewal terms in wallet checkout.
