# FreeGuard VPN

> FreeGuard is a privacy-focused VPN service with native desktop apps (Windows via direct installer; Mac via the Mac App Store or direct DMG), mobile apps (Android on Google Play, iOS on the App Store), a Chrome Web Store extension for browser traffic, and a Go-based CLI for Linux and headless servers. Protocols: anytls, hysteria2, trojan. Content is available in 45 languages; canonical URLs use /{locale}/ subdirectories.

- Distribution: Windows direct installer; Mac App Store plus direct DMG for Apple Silicon and Intel; Android on Google Play; iOS/tvOS on the App Store; Chrome extension on the Chrome Web Store.
- Chrome extension protects browser traffic only, not every app on the device.
- No Smart DNS product.
- Linux: CLI only, no desktop GUI.
- Mobile split tunneling: not yet exposed in app UI (only underlying Android VPN API infrastructure exists).
- DNS: public resolver choice, not a FreeGuard-operated recursive DNS.

## Canonical locales

English (default, no prefix). Additional locales use `/{locale}/` subdirectories: zh-CN, zh-HANT, ja, ko, fr, de, es, it, pt, nl, sv, da, no, fi, is, pl, cs, sk, hu, sl, ru, uk, ro, bg, hr, sr, mk, lt, lv, et, el, mt, th, hi, tr, he, id, vi, ms, bn, ur, ar, fa, sw.
